New Laser Mouse Principle The laser light is a kind of "Coherent Light" which is nearly a singular wavelength. Unlike the LED optical mouse, the laser tracking technology is capable of capturing the "Speckle Pattern Interferometry" from the laser light reflection. The images that laser sensor received are much more detailed and have higher contrast. Thus, the sensor can precisely analyze the continuous Speckel Pattern images and determine the cursor direction. Hence, the laser can track reliably even on irregularities pattern surface and reflect interference surface. Especially Acrox Laser Mouse Technology provides 40 times more sensitivity to reflect much more details than LED optical mouse.

Old LED Optical Mouse Principle With the LED illuminating the surface, the traditional optical mouse captures the light reflection via the lens to the sensor. The sensor analyzes the differences of each captured snapshots that brings out from the structure shadow of the surface. It can perceive differences from kinds of the surface. For example, the light-penetrated surface (glasses, transparant pads), the irregularities pattern surface (marble, ceramic), and reflecting - interfered surface (metal surface) may cause operating difficulty. Specially, LED illumination is a scattered light, it need a higher power to light up the reflecting field compared with laser diode.

- PDAS (Photo Diode Array Size), the sensitization spot size of the sensor. A smaller PDAS can have more sensitization spots in the same dimension. Besides, a more precisely PDAS requires a higher level of production process.
